Ingredients
Strawberry Black Tea
Black Tea (PG tips is the best)
Strawberries
Brown Sugar
Boba
1 cup tapioca starch
½ cup Boiling water
Brown sugar
Directions
Strawberry Black Tea
Dice strawberries into ¼ inch pieces (don’t worry about being too exact!)
Place strawberries in a pan with brown sugar and a little bit of water, cook until thick and syrupy. Place in a bowl and let cool.
Boil enough water to fill a pitcher and add in two tea bags (if your tea isn’t very strong, add in more). Let steep.
Mix strawberries with black tea. If it’s not sweet enough, cook down some brown sugar in water and pour it in. Let cool!
Boba
Place tapioca starch in large mixing bowl
Boil water. Once it boils, measure out ½ cup of water and pour into the mixing bowl with tapioca starch (IMPORTANT: the water MUST be super hot.)
Use a silicone spatula or wooden spoon to mix together the starch and hot water until it is fully combined into a dough and workable.
It will be hot, but once you can manage to knead the dough, start kneading on a work surface dusted with starch. Once fully incorporated and no longer sticks to your hands, cut into boba-sized squares and shape into boba!
Boil some water with brown sugar, once it boils, place boba into the water on high heat until it floats. Once the boba floats, lower to medium temperature until slightly translucent. Drain the water, rinse with cool water, and place it in a bowl with brown sugar. Mix and let sit.
Combine the boba and tea, add fresh ice, and enjoy!
*If your tea is bitter, add some milk or more sugar!
