Venardos Circus Father's Day
VENARDOS CIRCUS (veh-NARR-dos) is a unique Broadway-style Circus that was on tour, traveling across America when COVID-19 brought live in-person events to a halt in mid-March, 2020.
We have adapted our show format using our pre-existing outdoor Circus stage and backdrop where we will be presenting a modified version of our in-person show, completely online. Due to the nature of our performers each being individual family groups with their own props and acts we will be able to feature them on camera without breaking social distancing protocols. Our Ringmaster, Kevin Venardos will be our host introducing the acts (from a safe distance) and has set up set-up the equipment for the Livestream which requires no onsite tech support staff.

Learning Circles on Race - Allies Edition
Virtual small group discussion for allies on race.
Tickets are $75
Performative allyship is dead. And we will be better for it.
Each week, Jodi-Ann Burey shares her "Reading List Wednesdays," a curated review of business, politics and culture. Each issue includes four long-form essays authored by powerful journalists and thought leaders who dig deep into current events and their historical roots. Learning Circles with Jodi-Ann are designed to take these readings further explore the issues they raise on intersectional racial equity and how we can ground these ideas and frameworks in our everyday lives.
Participation in the Learning Circles requires reading all four articles before the meeting with discussion questions to reflect on to prepare for the conversations. Because Learning Circles are dynamically interactive, the small group will be limited to 10 participants.

Dear ONE: A Virtual Performance Featuring George Takei
Dear ONE: Love & Longing in Mid-Century Queer America, by Josh Irving Gershick, illuminates the lives of ordinary Queer Americans as recounted through letters written between 1953 and 1965, to L.A.’s ONE Magazine, the first openly gay & lesbian periodical in the United States. Each month, ONE Magazine reached several thousand readers, a great many of them isolated and in search of community. In larger cities, the magazine was available on newsstands; in smaller towns, it arrived in mailboxes in a simple unmarked envelope. Readers from all over the globe wrote back to ONE. Looking for love, friendship or understanding, they wrote of loneliness and longing, of joy and fulfillment, and of their daily lives, hidden from history. The play is adapted from material from the ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries.
Tickets $20 + fees. This 45-min performance will be followed by a discussion with the playwright.

Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity
In this free livestreamed talk, Professor Russell will explain how we can ensure that we never lose control of machines more powerful than we are. He will show how we can avert the worst threats by reshaping the foundations of AI to guarantee that machines pursue our objectives, not theirs – a machine that has no overriding interest in self-preservation, that is provably deferential to humans, and makes decisions based on human preferences, not its own.
